After being charged with domestic violence, Justin Roiland has been dropped from "Rick and Morty" by Adult Swim.

According to a statement posted on the network's Twitter feed and retweeted by the show's official account, Adult Swim has "ended its association" with Roiland.

"Rick and Morty" will continue, according to the announcement. The talented and committed crew is working diligently on Season 7.

Roiland, 42, not only co-created the program but also served as a writer and executive producer and voiced several minor characters throughout the first six seasons of the program, including the two title characters.

Roiland is facing charges of felony domestic violence against a former girlfriend.

Prosecutors in Orange County, California, filed a criminal complaint against Roiland earlier this month, accusing him of false imprisonment and bodily injury.
